Accounting Technology
Accounting Technology
The Accounting Technology program is a technical program designed to prepare students for entry-level accounting positions in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory as well as enhance the skills of persons currently employed in accounting who wish to advance.Upon successful completion, students should be prepared for accounting positions in business and industry, governmental agencies, personal finance, and public accounting firms.
An Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree is earned upon successful completion of the Accounting Technology program curriculum. There is also a one-year certificate program option designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in professional and business offices. All of those courses are part of the two-year program curriculum and can also be applied toward the AAS degree.
Progression: To meet graduation requirements for this program, students must successfully complete the specified courses listed with a “C” average (GPA of 2.00) or better. A grade of “C” or higher is required in each BOT and ENG course to progress in the program.
