Scarbrough is working toward her dream of becoming a labor and delivery nurse. "I love babies. I love taking care of others," she said. "I see myself in a few years in Atlanta, studying at Augusta Medical to become an OBGYN -- and maybe even opening my own practice one day."
Meridian Community College student Macy Adams never thought the start of her final year of study in the Radiologic Technology Program would reveal a surprise that would help cover the cost of her education.
A group of Southeast Lauderdale High School juniors and seniors stepped out of their classroom and into a college lab at Meridian Community College as part of their dual-credit Anatomy and Physiology I course.
"I want to see what's out there and learn more about where I can take my nursing career," Evans said after she stopped at tables manned by recruiters from across the region.
