Workforce Development

Meridian Community College's Workforce Development division believes a productive workforce is vital to our local economy.

The Workforce Development Team works with local business and industry in Meridian and Lauderdale County to ensure their employees have the best training possible. We also help individuals learn new skills or upgrade the skills they have.

To expand our efforts to meet our community's needs, MCC is currently renovating a 60,000 square foot facility known as the Workforce Development Center.  Programs already housed at this site include Industrial Maintenance Technician, Welding and Cutting Technology, lean manufacturing, distribution, basic aircraft structure training and electrical and plumbing classes.

Training programs can also be customized to meet the specific needs of individual businesses or a group of businesses. Financial assistance from the Mississppi Community College Board (MCCB) and Workforce Investment Area (WIA) funds are available for some services and classes.

Meeting space for small and large groups is also available at the Workforce Development Center and Webb Hall on the campus of Meridian Community College.

Please visit our site to get more specific information on the classes and area training we have available.
