Work-Based Learning

A structured work-site learning experience in which the student, program area teacher, Work-Based Learning Coordinator and work-site supervisor/mentor develop and implement
a business/education contract (training agreement). This experience is designed to integrate the student’s academic and technical skills into a work environment and includes regular meetings and seminars with school personnel for supplemental instruction
and feedback. 1-3 semester credit hour awarded for a 3-18 hours per week externship.
Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in occupational education program area courses.
