Welcome to MCC Tech Prep
Mississippi Tech Prep is an important school-to-careers transition program model that helps students make the connection between school and lifelong learning. The program combines rigorous academic courses with high-level technical training leading to a certificate, associate or baccalaureate degree. Tech Prep in Mississippi prepares young people for the careers of tomorrow.

Tech Prep is a collective effort across disciplines and institutions to provide career education and planning for all students. Tech Prep provides for enhanced curriculum through teacher training that emphasizes rigor and relevance, applied methodologies, contextual teaching and integration between academic and vocational.

Based on the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006, the components of Tech Prep are:
1. Articulation
2. Program of Study
3. Development of Tech Prep programs for secondary and post-secondary
4. In-service professional development for teachers, faculty and administrators
5. Professional Development Programs for counselors
6. Equal access to technical preparation programs to members of special populations
7. Preparatory Services
8. Coordinate with activities conducted under Title I
