Rarin’ to read

MCC FEA Members Look at BookMembers of Meridian Community College’s Future Educators of America (FEA) take another look at the children’s book, The Snowy Day, by Ezra Jack Keats in preparation for Read for the Record, which is presented in partnership with the Pearson Foundation. This event is a part of an international campaign that brings children and adults together to read the same book, on the same day, in homes and communities all over the world. The campaign also kicks off Jumpstart’s yearlong program, preparing preschool children in low-income neighborhoods for success in school and life. FEA members who will be reading in Meridian Public Schools and Lauderdale County Schools on Thursday, Oct. 7, include Robbie Rogers, left, Tamika Bell, Sherri Galbraith and Parish Chamberlin, all education majors at MCC.
