More than 198 high school seniors from local public and private schools and college students participated in Tuesday’s Pre-professional Student Day at Meridian Community College.

This annual event, sponsored by MCC’s Science Department and the MCC Recruiting staff, gave the students a chance to learn more about the career opportunities in a host of fields including medicine and engineering.

Guest speakers from Mississippi State University, The University of Mississippi and The University of Mississippi Medical Center discussed majoring in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine and engineering, and students had the opportunity to network with the representatives from the professional schools.
