Eagle’s Nest Bookstore to Celebrate Students for Volunteerism
National Student Day set for October 6

October 6, 2011 – Eagle’s Nest Bookstore is joining hundreds of other college stores across
North America October 6 to celebrate and promote social responsibility during the first annual
National Student Day. http://www.nationalstudentday.com

National Student Day, sponsored by the National Association of College Stores (NACS)
http://www.nacs.org, is a day dedicated to celebrating and promoting social
responsibility by college students.

“The Eagle’s Nest Campus Store decided to take part in National Student Day because we see
our students taking part in volunteering through local organization and our students continue to
improve the campus community and beyond. We are proud of our students and are taking this
opportunity to recognize them.”

Eagle’s Nest Bookstore-Meridian Community College has a morning of activities planned for
October 6, including:

· Free food (11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.)

· Free arm bands to first 100 students (Beginning at 9:00 A.M. until)

· Register for drawings to be held throughout the morning (9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.)

· Bring can goods, toiletries, or cleaning supplies and help fill the MCC Food Pantry
which aids students in difficult situations.

· Can you name all the clubs and organizations on campus?
(Eligible for Special Tail-Gate Drawing) (Students Only)

· Nominate your club or organization advisor for “The Best Advisor“-
They will be placed in a drawing for a special gift.

Students can also win cool prizes from NACS by sharing their story of social responsibility.
Students can submit their story on how they give back to their community online http://www.nationalstudentday.com/stories/share.aspx Stories will then be voted on by
students across North America. The 10 most popular stories will win awards consisting of $3,000,
$2,000, and $1,000 scholarships as well as seven iPads.
