Ballet Magnificat! returns to MCC

From the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C .to Singapore’s historic Victoria Theatre, thousands throughout the world have experienced Ballet Magnificat!

And again this year, the Jackson-based troupe will return to the McCain Theater stage on the Meridian Community College campus to present their art for the College’s Arts & Letters Series.

Ballet Magnificat! will be performing The Arrival and Ruth , guaranteed to captivate the audience with a kaleidoscope of movement, lights and sound, said Leia Hill, Arts and Letters Series coordinator.

This initial season presentation for the Arts & Letters Series will be held Thursday, Sept. 22, beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10, adults; $5, students.

With world-class dance and powerful performances, Ballet Magnificat! ministers through exciting life-impacting experiences, Hill said. Since its creation in 1986, Ballet Magnificat! has earned an international reputation for excellence.

Under the direction of founder and artistic director Kathy Thibodeaux, silver medalist at the 1982 USA International Ballet Competition, Ballet Magnificat!’s performs more than 100 times annually throughout the world.

This production is suitable for audiences of all ages, Hill said.
