Art and economic development – The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) and the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC) is hosting Creative Economy Road Show events and made one of its stops at MCC’s workforce development building last week. From Mississippi’s artists, artisans, writers, architects and designers, to its museums, art galleries, bookstores and advertising agencies, the state’s creative people and institutions generate significant wealth for the state’s economy, according to the MAC. The events provided attendees with a better understanding of the state’s creative economy, as well as ideas on ways they can support and grow the creative economy at a local level.
