Presidential Profile

MCC is seeking a dynamic, visionary leader as its next president. As outlined in Mississippi Code and college policy, the president reports directly to MCC’s five-member board of trustees and is responsible for the total day-to-day operation of the institution, including the administration of an annual budget exceeding $50 million supporting credit and non-credit instruction, student services, intercollegiate athletics and various other curricular elements. The president is the chief representative of the institution in national, state and local affairs.

Educational preparation: An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited university.

Expected skills/experience:

  • A minimum of five years of senior-level administration. Some experience in classroom teaching will be considered a plus.
  • Evidence of successful leadership in strategic planning, policy development, budget formulation and administration, faculty, staff, and student relations, curriculum development including distance education delivery, campus capital improvements, community service, building of private investment, and integration of technology into the curriculum and administrative operations.
  • Effective communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Ability to formulate a vision for the college’s future and foster support for that vision among campus, community and governmental constituencies with an emphasis on workforce/economic development.

Compensation: Commensurate with position as related to skills, experience and state standards.
