Meridian Community College's Nu Upsilon Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa received the Recognizing Excellence in Acceptance and Completion with Honors Award (REACH) for excelling in membership development.
From ceremonies and celebrations to cheers and tears, MCC hosted two commencements graduates from its Career and Technical Education and University Transfer Programs on Friday, May 10, in the Evangel Temple.
Reflecting on her MCC experience, Higgins said she found a home with her teammates, friends, and College staffers. "I've been to other states, and the people are tense or rough. Here in Meridian, I feel like it's home."
Sophomores in the Phil Hardin Honors College at Meridian Community College were saluted as the group's honor forum held its final gathering for the 2023-24 academic year.
"I not only wanted to succeed for myself, I wanted to succeed for my children. To be proud of myself, to let them be proud of me, to let them see that no matter how old you are, you can still accomplish your goals," she said.
