Are you a spouse or dependent of an active duty service member who is looking for a financial helping hand for tuition for college?
Look then to Meridian Community College. MCC is offering a Military Spouse/Dependent Scholarship to help with some of the financial burdens.
The recipient of the scholarship must be enrolled in at least one, three-hour MCC course; maintain a 2.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); present military identification to MCC personnel for verification and be a spouse or dependent of an active duty service member. The recipient may also reapply each semester for this scholarship.
With this scholarship, the College will pay half the cost of tuition up to $700, said Pam Baranello, veterans and military services coordinator at MCC. The students have to meet the criteria and the scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Note that the scholarship will be coordinated with any other financial aid the students receives. Also, students will not receive this scholarship if they have any other type of financial aid that will cover the cost of tuition.
