Write the equation for a line that passes through the point (-5, 3) and has a slope m = 2.

y – y1 = m ( x – x1 )

y – 3 = 2 ( x + 5 )

y – 3 = 2x + 10

y = 2x + 13

The equation is :

y = 2x + 13

or

2x – y = -13

or

2x – y + 13 = 0
