Find the x-intercept and the y-intercept for the equation 2x – 3y – 8 = 0.

To find the x-intercept, the y value must be 0.

2x – 3y – 8 = 0

2x – 3(0) – 8 = 0

2x – 8 = 0

2x = 8

x = 4

x-intercept = (4, 0)

To find the y-intercept, the x value must be 0.

2x – 3y – 8 = 0

2(0) – 3y – 8 = 0

–3y – 8 = 0

-3y = 8

y = -8/3

y-intercept = (0, -2 2/3)
