The Fire
Protection Technology Program allows students to pursue one of two
separate study options. If a student is seeking progression into a
baccalaureate (four-year) degree program in Fire Science (such as
the Open Learning Fire Service Program at the University of
Memphis), a non-specialty option is available. This option provides
coordination towards completion of needed prerequisites for the
advanced level program. For students seeking Associate Degree
recognition, the program provides concentrations in four technical
specialty areas. These include Fire Administration, Fire
Prevention, Fire Investigation, and Hazardous Materials.
