PROGRAM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS


All students must meet the college "General Admission" requirements as outlined in the MCC College Catalog. To be eligible to enter the Dental Assisting program, you must:
score a 17 or better composite score on the ACT
or, score 69.5 or above on the MCC ACCUPLACER reading section and a 59.5 or above on the arithmetic section (ACCUPLACER is given free of charge at MCC Admission office)
or, Complete 15 semester hours with a "C" average or above at an accredited college or university with six of the hours being awarded in English Compostion I (ENG 1113) and Principles of Speech (SPT 1113); and, have a cumulative GPA of 2.00 ("C" average) on all previous college coursework,
and,
attend a DAT information session.  Students will receive notice from the Admission Office about scheduling their information session.

Check with the Admissions Office and/or the Health Education Advisor for information session dates, selection details, and deadlines. Program admission is a competitive process.
