Robby Atkinson returns to Meridian Community College to serve as the
Public Address Announcer for the Eagle Baseball team. Robby is no
stranger to Meridian Community College and fans in the Meridian area.
Robby attended Meridian Community College from 2000-2002 and served as
team manager, statistician, and public address announcer in his two
seasons with the baseball team. Robby is also the public address
announcer for the MCC basketball team and has served in that position
for the past four years.

Robby is a huge part of the atmosphere at Scaggs Field. We pride
ourselves in doing everything first class, The Voice is an extension

announcer in all of junior college baseball."
Robby has been attending MCC baseball games regularly since he was five
years old and is excited about his return to Eagle baseball program on a
regular basis.
"I am so honored to be a part of the program once again," said Atkinson.
"This has always been one of the best programs in the country and the
tradition is so rich here at MCC. I am very honored to be able to bring
my talents to the program once again and bring excitement to each game
at Scaggs Field."
After MCC, Robby attended the University of West Alabama and was the
public address announcer for the Tiger baseball team and worked on the
staff for the Sports Information Department at UWA. Robby returned to
Meridian a couple of years ago to take a job at the Radio People of
Meridian, MS. Robby is the current mid-day disc jockey for 97OKK and can
be heard from 9-2 p.m.
Robby has served as the voice of the Lamar Football program on the radio
for 106.9 for the past two seasons and was named the new play-by-play
radio voice for the Meridian High Wildcat football program beginning
this fall. Robby has also been chosen as the public address announcer
for the Babe Ruth State Championship Tournament in the past and was
selected to announce various All-Star tournaments around the Southeast.
Robby has been a fan of Eagle baseball for years and some of his
favorite players include: Braxton Whitehead, Michael Artman, David
Tidwell, Mitch Shurden, Chance Melvin, and Kirby Clark.
