Dillon Sudduth Dillon Sudduth has finished his second season on Coach Rose’s staff. Sudduth is primarily responsible for working with the team’s offense, infielders, and recruitment of student-athletes. The 2009 Region 23 Champions, the Eagles were powered by an offense that hit .365 as a team and blasted 88 homeruns. Sudduth, a Madison, Miss. native, completed his playing career at Southeastern Louisiana University and graduated with a BS in General Business.
"Coach Sudduth did a tremendous job last season of
running the offense, coaching infielders, recruiting, and helping to guide us to an MACJC Championship. Our team was better on and off the field last
season due directly to Coach Sudduth's passion and drive to be
successful. I coached Dillon during his sophomore campaign at MCC
and knew then he would be a great coach if that was the field he chose.
He has a drive, a toughness, and an unwillingness to accept less than
his or his players best that......to be honest is missing from many
young men today." Prior to his time in Hammond, Sudduth played two years at Meridian CC for coaches Mike Federico and Chad Caillet. The final year being head coach Chris Rose’s first at MCC as an assistant under Caillet. As a freshman Sudduth started games at 3rd base, shortstop, and DH on the 2004 World Series team. His sophomore year he started every game at second base for the 2005 MACJC State Championship team. Sudduth continued his playing career at Southeastern Louisiana where he started 96 games over his two years there. He helped lead the Lions to a school record for overall and conference victories and was part of an infield that led the nation in double plays. He received the “Teammate of the Year” award following his senior year and was recognized as a Southeastern Scholar Athlete award winner. After the completion of his playing career, he served as a student assistant coach at Southeastern helping with hitting, baserunning, and infield defense.
