Mike Smith
Head Coach


Entering his 5th year as Head Coach for the Lady Eagles is Mike Smith. In his first 4 seasons as head coach he has compiled a 41-25-4 record. Last season Smith led the Lady Eagles back to the MACJC Postseason for the 2nd consecutive season. The Lady Eagles lost in the 1st round of the MACJC Playoffs to East Central CC 2-0. In 2013 he was selected to coach in the first ever MACJC All Star Game and led the South team to a 2-0 victory over the North. Smith has also produced the first ever Lady Eagle “All American” in 2013 in Meme Huff.

2016 will also be a first for Coach Smith, it will be his first season as the MCC Men’s coach. He was an assistant coach for the Men and Women from 2007 to 2010 before taking over the Women’s program.

He is a class of 2000 graduate of West Lauderdale High School where he played soccer & helped lead the Knights to the 2000 State Championship. Then he went on to MCC, where he was apart of the Eagles team that captured the 2000 NJCAA National Championship. Following his career at MCC, he went on to play at Delta State University in 2005-2007, where he was selected team captain, lead the team in scoring with 17 goals in his two years, and was selected to the All Gulf South Conference 2nd team. He went on to graduate in May of 2008 with a Bachelors Degree in Health and Physical Education.

Coach Smith also coaches for Alliance Futbol Club here in Meridian & was the Director of Coaching for AFC in 2014 & 2015 before receiving the MCC Men’s job and had to step down as DOC.

Smith holds a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and also retains his USSF National “B” license. He is married to Emily George Smith and has a 4 year old son named Dawson.
