Adult Basic Education (ABE)

Adult Basic Education at Meridian Community College is provided by a federal grant, overseen by the Mississippi Community College Board, and offered through the Community and Business Development Division of MCC.

The ABE Program works in four basic areas:

1. Administering the official GED Examination;

2. ABE/GED classes to prepare individuals to obtain their GED diploma or improve their education functioning level;

3. English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to prepare immigrants to interact successfully in our community, and prepare them for citizenship;

4. Literacy tutoring to help adults learn to read.

All classes offered are free of charge.

The ABE/GED program is located on the 2nd floor of the G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery Student Center in room 207.
